TYO Neptunes Basketball

The TYO Neptune Select finish a hard fought weekend of basketball in 3rd Place in the 11th grade Division 1 States. They finished with an overall record of 2-2. They won their first game 65-54 over the James River Blaze. They lost their second game to the very talented and athletic BWSL 15 Elite 52-46. They recovered on Sunday morning to win 60-44 over Sports Quest. In the Semi finals they came up short  in a very intense battle with Team Virginia. As usual the Select received key contributions from all their players. Some of the stand-out perforamces were: Salem High Schools, Alliyah Floyd (12.2 ppg, 3 rpg, 3.7 stlpg), Cape Henry Collegiates, Nakaila Pollard (10.7 ppg, 4.2 rpg) and Alexis Smiths (7.5 ppg, 4.5 rpg and 2 stlpg), Lake Taylor's, Ariel Wilson's (6ppg, 5.2 rpg, 2.5 stlpg) and Kempville High Schools, Elizabeth Connelly's (6 ppg, 2.5 rpg). The Select will participate next in the Sports Quest May Flowers on May 7th in Richmond.
